COMPLIMENTS FROM PROFESSIONALS & AMATEURS

First, Some Sincere Compliments From the PROs

For more than 30 years, a long line of racers have depended on the benefits of Amsoil synthetic oils to cross the finish line ahead of the competition. There racers hail from just about every field of powered vehicle competition on the planet:   Formula 1, motocross, snowmobile, off-shore power boating, funny car, tractor pulls, quad racing, drag racing, Baja events, personal watercraft races, super modified events, stomper truck events, demolition derbys, etc. To get an idea of just how many racing professionals use Amsoil, take a look at these two full color collections:

Professional Racers (1)       Professional Racers (2)

From the Automotive Racing World

Bobby Unser It is no secret that Indy car racing legend Bobby Unser used AMSOIL motor oils in all his vehicles for many years, including all his race cars. He has stated more than once that all of today's high level racers use synthetic motor oils because the engines simply demand the higher quality of synthetics.

Years ago I remember hearing how his race car differentials could not hold up to the tortuous stress of even one race up Pikes Peak without needing to be rebuilt. That is, until he started using AMSOIL. Then his differentials went all season without needing to be rebuilt. This experience in his early years of racing began a long relationship with AMSOIL which extended to all of his race cars.

Bobby Unser once said: "AMSOIL is the Best Lubricant made, the Standard to which all others are judged." These are significant words coming from such an exceptional competitor. For those of you younger folk, Bobby Unser was a 3-time Indy 500 Winner with 35 overall Indy Car wins and 13 Pikes Peak Hill Climb victories to his credit.

As noted above, it's not just AMSOIL engine oils that get kudos. Severe Gear gear lube outperforms every conventional, synthetic and performance gear lube on the market. If the name Dale Earnhart sounds familiar to you, you may know that his company tested this gear lube in the differentials of their race cars and it is the only gear lube they tested which actually resolved their performance issues. AMSOIL corporate has reported that one of his race team mechanics remembered the AMSOIL name after they exhausted testing other gear lubes that all failed. When they tested the AMSOIL Severe Gear lube, it totally solved their problem.

You don't have to drive like Bobby Unser or Dale Earnhart to enjoy the benefits of AMSOIL.

Applications that are Out Of This World
Not only is synthetic oil is used in every commercial and military jet engine in the world, it is also used in all spacecraft for the same reason - its ability to withstand high and low temperature extremes. Of course, if it can handle those, it makes sense that it would also do well at moderate temperatures, which it does. Lubrication experts universally agree that synthetic lubricants are in class by themselves. They function at temperatures that would have long since turned mineral oil into a solid block or a burnt deposit of carbon.

Comments from Doyle Vaughan on his houseboat - "AMSOIL By-Pass filter installed on Skipper Liner houseboat. Each engine is a 5.0 MerCruiser. I used an AMSOIL SDF-26 filter and BE-100 bypass filter element mounted on a BMK-13 remote system. The power unit also has the same filter setup and the unit is a 12.5 KW four cylinder Westerbeke gasoline power plant. Previously it was run with petroleum based oil at 60hr intervals. With oil analysis I believe we can extend this to possibly once a season."

AMSOIL Preferred Customer Mark Tweedale, Neenah, Wis., learned about the quality and cost savings he can depend on with AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle Synthetic Racing Oil after a hard lesson using Pennzoil-Quaker State oil in his watercrafts.

The watercrafts are stock Kawasaki Ultra 150s, bought new in 1999 and 2000. They have a triple cylinder 1200cc motor that puts out 145 horsepower with a top radar speed of 65 mph. "They are Kawasaki's top of the line muscle crafts," Tweedale said. The machines use a race spark plug that costs "a whopping $15 each," Tweedale said. "I began fouling plugs almost immediately into their use." In fact, he fouled out 30 plugs in the first year. He took the watercrafts back to the dealer to try to identify the source of the problem. "The dealer found nothing mechanically wrong with my watercrafts," Tweedale said. The dealer told Tweedale none of his other Ultras had experienced this plug fouling problem.

Tweedale began to suspect his oil and he contacted Pennzoil-Quaker State about the problem, explained the expense of the plugs and that the machines were mechanically sound. "I asked them for help and possible reimbursement for my plugs," Tweedale said. Pennzoil-Quaker State sent a letter requesting Tweedale send in some of his oil for analysis. After the oil had been analyzed, Tweedale received a letter from the oil company stating that, while the oil's additives showed signs of breakdown from aging, it was not to the extent that it would foul plugs in his watercraft. "They offered me no reimbursement toward my plug expense," Tweedale said. They did offer him a gallon of their synthetic oil.

While talking with coworkers, he discovered Gary Yashinsky, an AMSOIL Preferred Customer in Green Bay, Wis. Yashinsky "had only positive things to say about AMSOIL," Tweedale said. "He truly went the extra mile to help me solve my problem and also to promote AMSOIL." Tweedale was convinced. He had the Series 2000 Racing Oil installed in the watercraft early in the spring of 2002.

"I went the entire summer with no fouled plugs in either watercraft," Tweedale said. "Unbelievable. What a difference oil can make." He became a Preferred Customer and does everything he can to promote AMSOIL products to his friends and coworkers. "I will be an AMSOIL Preferred Customer forever," he said. "Thank you AMSOIL for putting out a quality product which in turn solved this problem for me."

Jim Faulkerson, Las Vegas, NV, holds the liquid quarter-mile world record of 5.007 sec. ET at 209.91 MPH (half distance recorded at 2.910 sec. ET at 191.12 MPH)

In a letter from Steve Haynes, a professional angler:

"Big V6 outboards are notorious for fouling plugs. In the five years I've been with AMSOIL, I've yet to even break out a spark plug wrench. This is especially important to fishermen who use their combustion engines for presentation techniques. Whether it's hovering over a rocky reef in northern Minnesota in 5-foot waves, or trolling the many offshore fisheries that exist up and down both coasts, there are many scenarios where AMSOIL allows an angler to idle his main power plant for hours, days, weeks, or for that matter, YEARS! The best thing of all is that there is no price to pay on the top end. My boat can idle all day and when it's time to put the hammer down, I'm positive that I will be just as fast as can be and will not be fouled out. I guarantee you conventional oils would fall flat on their faces!"

I would like to tell you a little third-person story of a recent In-Fisherman event I participated in. "Steve motored towards the starting bay on the final morning of competition. In 29th place of 150 places after two days, he was concerned about the weather forecast. With 20-30 mph winds, he didn't know if he should make the 30-mile run to the fish he needed by 12:45 to make it back on time, and probably fish in brutal 4-6 foot waves next to a sandbar. The scenario would not allow Steve the option of shutting off his main engine. To shut the Mercury 175 XST Optimax tiller motor off, would risk being blown hard into the sand bar and along way from help. He would have to let the big V6 two-stroke motor idle all day.

Steve made the decision to make that run. It took him a wild hour-long boat ride to get to the spot in building seas. He caught the quality fish he needed by noon. He made the bone-jarring 2-hour ride back to the starting bay with his prop out of the water half the time. He kept his large 2-stroke engine running for 8 hours in extreme conditions. He got his top ten finish.

"AMSOIL allows me to make strategic decisions that my competitors cannot afford to make! The Professional Walleye Trail may be the most brutal environment of any fishing tour on the planet and AMSOIL protects my equipment and gives me the mental edge to make tough calls. Over the years, I have leaned hard on my oil and equipment. The reliability and performance boost makes AMSOIL the only choice for my boat! Oh, by the way, I'm still running those same plugs from Lake of the Woods!"

Steve Haynes #112 - Professional Walleye Angler

David A. Zgrabik of Cleveland, Ohio, owns a guide service and is also a tournament angler. His success depends on the reliability of his equipment. He says he has always used quality oils, but has never seen the performance and sheer benefits from other products like he has seen from the AMSOIL product lineup. "After starting to run AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle Racing Oil, I noticed considerably less smoke at start-up, improved idling and more power," David said. "I even have an unexplainable 200 rpm increase!" David's tow vehicle is another important part of his business.

"I travel all over when I'm fishing and doing other promotional work," David said. "After installing AMSOIL engine oil and an AMSOIL filter, I noticed a 10-15 degree temperature drop while the engine was operating. I was just amazed at how well it was working. There was also an increase in fuel mileage. There is no way I would do without my AMSOIL motor oil now!"

From the "Alka-Hauler" 501 Race Team:

Just a quick note to tell you how your AMSOIL Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil is working in my drag boat.

In 1989, I was racing a 1500 horsepower, 495 cubic inch, blown Chevrolet motor in my drag boat. I had been using another manufacturer's 20W-50 racing oil. By switching to the AMSOIL 20W-50 Racing Oil, I immediately cut off an additional 0.2 seconds from my elapsed time. This was a consistent 0.2 seconds decrease.

In late 1994, after a serious crash, I purchased another boat with a blown 565 cubic inch Aries Hemi, burning methanol for fuel. I continued to use the AMSOIL Synthetic Racing Oil.

Today, this boat is capable of running 200 MPH in 6.00 seconds over the quarter mile. June 2000 I filled the motor with AMSOIL Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil. I am still using the same oil this year. I check the screen in the Osberg oil filter after qualifying each weekend. Without any metal residue onscreen, I merely clean and reinstall the screen in the filter assembly. About every 5 weekends, I will drain the oil and let the alcohol evaporate, and then run it through a bypass filter before I reinstall it back onto the motor.

Because of the AMSOIL Synthetic Racing Oil, I have not had a lubrication-related engine failure since 1989. This is remarkable, considering this Aries Blown Alcohol Hemi motor is capable of producing 3,000 horsepower.

With the help of your superior protection, this boat has been Central States Drag Boat Association High Point champion for the last 6 years and National Drag Boat Association High Point Champion in 1999.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jim Richards
