COMPLIMENTS FROM PROFESSIONALS & AMATEURS

First, Some Sincere Compliments From the PROs

For more than 30 years, a long line of racers have depended on the benefits of Amsoil synthetic oils to cross the finish line ahead of the competition. There racers hail from just about every field of powered vehicle competition on the planet:   Formula 1, motocross, snowmobile, off-shore power boating, funny car, tractor pulls, quad racing, drag racing, Baja events, personal watercraft races, super modified events, stomper truck events, demolition derbys, etc. To get an idea of just how many racing professionals use Amsoil, take a look at these two full color collections:

Professional Racers (1)       Professional Racers (2)

From the Automotive Racing World

Bobby Unser It is no secret that Indy car racing legend Bobby Unser used AMSOIL motor oils in all his vehicles for many years, including all his race cars. He has stated more than once that all of today's high level racers use synthetic motor oils because the engines simply demand the higher quality of synthetics.

Years ago I remember hearing how his race car differentials could not hold up to the tortuous stress of even one race up Pikes Peak without needing to be rebuilt. That is, until he started using AMSOIL. Then his differentials went all season without needing to be rebuilt. This experience in his early years of racing began a long relationship with AMSOIL which extended to all of his race cars.

Bobby Unser once said: "AMSOIL is the Best Lubricant made, the Standard to which all others are judged." These are significant words coming from such an exceptional competitor. For those of you younger folk, Bobby Unser was a 3-time Indy 500 Winner with 35 overall Indy Car wins and 13 Pikes Peak Hill Climb victories to his credit.

Indianapolis 500

As noted above, it's not just AMSOIL engine oils that get kudos. Severe Gear gear lube outperforms every conventional, synthetic and performance gear lube on the market. If the name Dale Earnhart sounds familiar to you, you may know that his company tested this gear lube in the differentials of their race cars and it is the only gear lube they tested which actually resolved their performance issues. AMSOIL corporate has reported that one of his race team mechanics remembered the AMSOIL name after they exhausted testing other gear lubes that all failed. When they tested the AMSOIL Severe Gear lube, it totally solved their problem.

You don't have to drive like Bobby Unser or Dale Earnhart to enjoy the benefits of AMSOIL.

Applications that are Out Of This World

Not only is synthetic oil is used in every commercial and military jet engine in the world, it is also used in all spacecraft for the same reason - its ability to withstand high and low temperature extremes. Of course, if it can handle those, it makes sense that it would also do well at moderate temperatures, which it does. Lubrication experts universally agree that synthetic lubricants are in class by themselves. They function at temperatures that would have long since turned mineral oil into a solid block or a burnt deposit of carbon.

Running Cooler - Harley Becomes Smooth Ride

Terry Campbell

Terry Campbell, Lincoln, Calif. works in the industrial laundry business, but he spends his free time riding his motorcycle in the Sierra Mountains. Although he has been a Honda rider since he was about 15, he recently bought a 2003 Harley-Davidson Dyna Superglide. "The biggest thing I noticed was the big twin engines run hot," Campbell said.

He initially ran Harley SynTec3 in his crankcase, Redline Heavy Shock in his transmission and Redline 75W-140 in his primary chain, according to Redline technical services recommendations. "Well, the Redline didn't work any better than the Syn3," Campbell said. "In fact, my transmission shifted worse. The Harley Syntec ran too hot, and the Redline was sticky."

He remembered that years ago he used AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils, so he installed AMSOIL products in his new motorcycle. He runs AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil in the crankcase, AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 75W-90 Gear Lube in the transmission and AMSOIL 10W-40 in the primary chain, and has installed an AMSOIL SDF Motorcycle Oil Filter.

"So, I've been running AMSOIL in all three cavities now," Campbell said. "It has made quite a difference. My engine is running at least 30 degrees cooler and my transmission shifts much smoother, and my primary chain is quieter."

He said his engine had been running between 280 and 300 degrees Farenheit. And when the engine was cold, the transmission would grind when he shifted from neutral to first gear. "Not any more," Campbell said. "Not bad improvements from just changing oils. I first used AMSOIL lubricants in the late '70s, I should have never stopped."

He's getting increased horsepower out of the performance cams, he said. "This is really smooth. I've been a believer in synthetics since the '70s. I've seen the proof, I'm happy with the AMSOIL. The products seem like real quality products and if they'll keep my motor in my Harley running longer, I'll keep using them."

Honda Shadow - Smoother Than Ever Before

Lloyd Blazs

Lloyd Blazs of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, found AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils and lubricants solved his problems with a new motorcycle and now he's a lifelong user.

He recently bought a Honda Shadow VT750C motorcycle. "Being new, things are tight, so when I had some shifting problems and a clutch that was displaying excessive grabbiness I did not think much of it," Blazs said. "But after a very respectable break in period went by, at just over 8,000km (5,000 miles), everything was broken in and loosened up. Yet I still had a clutch that would often grab resulting in lurching or stalling the engine if I did not give it enough gas to get the RPMs up to prevent stalling in stop and go city rush hour driving."

The clutch checked out to be properly adjusted. Another problem was a loud clunking sound when he put the motorcycle in gear. "Often I thought 'this cannot be all that good on the gears.'" He was using conventional motorcycle oils through this time and decided he'd check into synthetics. Blazs researched synthetic motorcycle oils on the Internet and found AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil seemed the best suited for his needs, he said.

"After putting a new filter on my bike I poured in AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil and started it up," Blazs said. "Within about 15 minutes of riding I was noticing something was different with the engine. To my surprise, the clutch was now smooth as silk when I was letting it out. Gone was the sudden lurch from the clutch grabbing when it was almost fully engaged. The load gear-snapping clunk became a soft clunk of going into gear."

After about 2,000km (1,250 miles) with AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil all the "little annoyances disappeared," he said. "I have yet to experience a shifting problem gearing down when sitting at a red light." Since then Blazs has changed over the rear drive units to AMSOIL Synthetic 75W-90 Gear Lube.

"I am so pleased with the results that I have recommended your oil to my friends with motorcycles and even asked the shop where I have my bike serviced to stock AMSOIL products as this is the only oil I wish to use from here on in," Blazs said.
